Course Description
Participants will learn new assessment and
treatment of co-occurring disorders. The impact of addiction on the
family will be explored. Discussion will take place on nicotine
addiction in the mentally ill, the impact of cigarette smoking and HIV,
and prescription abuse and medical marijuana.

and observable affects, 2) The four-tiered foundation of recovery, 3)

practices.

Course Description
The
course will provide understanding of process addictions, impact on the
individual and their families. Insight will be gained in diagnosis and
treatment.
Objectives
Participants will: 1) Identify
various process addictions i.e., sex, gambling, shopping, and hoarding,

Explore the differential diagnosis of
sex addiction,
3) Distinguish the different patterns of
over-shoppers and over-spenders as well as the origins and treatment,
4) Understand
the inter-related issues of compulsive theft (especially shoplifting,
employee theft and credit card fraud) as well as hoarding and
cluttering.

seminar. Any request after the stated deadline will be honored whenever

Work Clock Hours and MCBAP Certifications. Individual must attend full presentation schedule to
receive CE's. Please arrive 15 - 30 minutes prior to program, and allow time at end of day for sign out and
receipt of your CE Certificates. Applications are available by
